Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Genio’s restaurant parking

lot, 1420 W. Olive Ave., Burbank. Breakfast service will be cooked up

by the Burbank Kiwanis for Fun. The cost is $4.50 in advance and $5

Homenetmen Glendale Ararat Chapter is having an art exhibit

celebrating the 1600th anniversary of the invention of the Armenian

alphabet from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today and Sunday at the Ararat

Center, 3347 N. San Fernando Road, Glendale. Admission is free.

The sixth annual Halloween Show featuring a solo exhibition by

expressionist painter Matthew Price opens with a Gothic Ball from 8

p.m. to midnight at Wax Poetic gallery in Burbank. Those attending

will be dressed to the nines in celebration of the upcoming holiday.

“Inspired by Nature:” Paintings and Drawings by Botanical Artists”

at the Creative Arts Center in Burbank. There are 67 watercolor,

graphite, oil and colored pencil works in the exhibit created by the

Botanical Artists Guild of Southern California.

A reception will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 14 and a $25

lecture/workshop will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 22. The center is at

Glendale Community Concerts Assn. presents Jim Post impersonating

Mark Twain in songs illuminating the wry humor for which Twain was

famous at 2:30 p.m. in the Glendale High School Auditorium, 1440 E.

The Key Palmer Quartet will appear at the Jazz Celebrations

concert at 5 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church, 1300 E. Colorado St.,

Glendale. Admission is a free-will donation. For more information,

“Relief, a concert benefiting hurricane victims as well as local

charities, will be at 5 p.m. at Burbank First Christian Church, 221

S. Sixth St., Burbank. Performing Americana music are husband and

wife Murry Hammond of the Old 97’s, an alternative country band, and

Grey Delisle, who won a Grammy this year in the traditional folk

category. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.

All proceeds will be divided evenly between Hurricane Relief,

Burbank Temporary Aid Center and the Nancy Painter Home for Mothers

and Children.
