Businesses vie for chili bragging rights

Laguna Escrow Services took top honors for their chili at the ninth

annual Pet Parade & Chili Cook-Off, held Sept. 18 by the Laguna Board

of Realtors and Affiliates.

Second place went to Michael Lee & Michael Koss, and Maritime

Mortgage won third place.

Laguna Escrow also won first place in the best-decorated booth

contest for their witch-themed decor. Maritime Mortgage’s pirate

theme took second place, and Heritage Escrow came in third with a

Hawaiian-themed booth.

In the Pet Parade:

* Most handsome male first prize went to Junior, while Barkley

took second.

* Prettiest female was won by Hayley, with Elie in second place.

* Best costume first prize was won by Chloe, with Tucker in

second place.

* Most talented animal first prize was won by Benny, with Riley in

second place.

* Cutest small or baby pet was won by Sir Bently, with Bluebell in

second place.

All proceeds from the event were earmarked for the Pacific Marine

Mammal Center, the Laguna Beach Animal Shelter and the Blue Bell

Foundation for Cats.
