Chief Sellers takes oath

As Chief Spreine bows out, former head of the Seal Beach department takes helm.Exiting Chief of Police Jim Spreine administered the official oath of office for the new chief, Michael Sellers, at a ceremony held Wednesday at City Hall. Police officers and department employees from Laguna Beach and surrounding cities filled the council chambers to welcome the new chief and say goodbye to Spreine.

Sellers arrives at the Laguna Beach Police Department with eight years experience as the chief of police in Seal Beach. His wife, Rita Fraser, works for the city of Laguna Beach as the manager of police and fire communications.
