Firefighters host program

The Newport Beach Fire Department will hold a town hall meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Oasis Senior Center, 800 Marguerite Ave., Corona del Mar. The public is invited to the presentation from Newport Beach firefighters who assisted in the South after hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The firefighters will share photos and stories from their experiences.

The Fire Department hopes the event will raise awareness of the importance of local disaster preparedness. Space is limited to the first 300 people. The presentation will be taped to air at a later date on the city’s cable channels, Adelphia Channel 3 or Cox Channel 30. For information, call (949) 644-3109.
