Carey to join Tribe

Newport Harbor star picks Virginia school.Newport Harbor volleyball standout Bryana Carey said she has committed to play for William and Mary College in Williamsburg, Va.

“I committed last night [Wednesday],” Carey said. “I felt really comfortable with the coach and the players.”

“Their volleyball team also has a strong tradition, much like we have here at Newport Harbor,” Carey added.

Debbie Hill, coach of the Tribe, is the 24th all-time winningest coach in NCAA Division I volleyball and has 533 victories at William and Mary.

“It’s a strong academic school. They have a rich history,” Carey said.

The 6-foot-1 middle blocker chose William and Mary over Rutgers, North Carolina, Boston College and Rice.20051021T01K4C9KNo Caption
