CdM runs to first at Mount SAC
Sea Kings girls streak to first with 38 points; boys finish fourth.The Corona del Mar High girls cross country team raced to first in the Division III team sweepstakes race at the Mount SAC Invitational on Friday at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut.
Senior Annie St. Geme, the recent winner at the Orange County Championships, blazed to first in 17 minutes, 8 seconds. Her mark was almost a full minute ahead of second-place finisher Ariel Wright (18:01) of Bishop O’Dowd.
St. Geme was followed by teammates Shelby Buckley (fourth, 18:15), Allison Damon (eighth, 18:55), Nichole Slykhous (10th, 19:03) and Christi St. Geme (15th, 19:21) on the three-mile course.
The Corona del Mar boys finished fourth in the Division III team sweepstakes race, paced by Kenneth Wong (15th, 15:58), Tim Scott (21st, 16:05), Tom Hutchison (27th, 16:13), Ryan Guthrie (43rd, 16:36) and Jack Turner (48th, 16:43).
