Council to consider general-plan change

Modifications would allow condos atop museum planned for arts center area.With Costa Mesa city officials considering proposals for mixed use buildings, future residents of the city may have their pick of what to live above: stores, offices, and possibly a museum.

The Costa Mesa City Council on Tuesday agreed to consider changing the city’s general plan to allow condominiums on the upper floors of a planned four-story art museum and academy on Town Center Drive.

The museum would be next to the new Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall and may be operated by the Orange County Museum of Art.
