Playoff sites are now set

Sage Hill volleyball final scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday.The CIF Southern Section announced the game time for Sage Hill School’s first division championship match in girls’ volleyball.

The Lightning will meet Academy League rival in St. Margaret’s in the Division IV-A final at 10 a.m. Saturday. The match will take place at Cypress College in Gymnasium I.

In addition, the Southern Section announced two other time changes for matches involving local teams.

Sage Hill’s Division V girls’ tennis semifinal against Morro Bay will be 3 p.m. at the Balboa Bay Racquet Club, rather than at 2 p.m.

Newport Harbor and Corona del Mar’s Division I boys’ water polo semifinal will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine. The match will be part of a doubleheader with the other Division I semifinal -- Foothill and Long Beach Wilson.

The other playoff tilt involving a local team -- Corona del Mar’s Division I girls’ tennis semifinal against Peninsula -- remains at 2 p.m. at Peninsula.

The Sage Hill-St. Margaret’s match will be the first of eight finals to be played Saturday at Cypress College. General admission for the volleyball championship is $9 for the general public, $5 for students who purchase tickets beforehand, and $5 for children under 13.

By reaching the finals, the Lightning have already qualified for the state tournament, which begins Tuesday.
