Graham is Lightning’s MVP

sports briefs for mondayLone senior on Sage Hill girls’ tennis team helped lead squad to CIF Southern Section Division V crown.Grace Graham, the only senior on the CIF Southern Section Division V champion Sage Hill School girls’ tennis team, was named the MVP of the Lightning at the team’s awards banquet Friday night.

The four year letterman had a 45-18 record this season. She finished her career with a 211-58 record, playing with a different partner each year.

Freshman doubles player Jaclyn Smrecek was named the Most Improved Player. Smrecek and her partner, Graham, were 19-1 in Academy League play and 10-1 in the playoffs.

Sophomore transfer Ashley Adams, who rotated at the No. 1 singles position, was awarded the Lightning Award (Coaches Award).
