“We can get guys through nine holes in an hour and 20 minutes,” said Keith Wyrick, a starter at the 18-hole course.

A draw for the beginner, junior or senior, Newport Beach Golf Course offers a relatively challenging track, with a good chance to practice up on your short-to-mid-iron game.

Hit the course by 8 a.m., you’ll still have time to get back for that 11 a.m. breakfast deadline at Denny’s. Oh wait, they serve breakfast all day.
