Children’s holiday palettes on display

City Hall and Library will show works by young artists; reception Tuesday at Library’s Family Holiday Night.Twenty Holiday Palettes painted by Laguna Beach children will be exhibited at City Hall this month. Another 280 palettes will be displayed from 4 to 7 p.m. on Family Holiday Night, Dec. 20, at the Laguna Beach Library.

“This is the second year of the children’s palette program,” arts commissioner Mary Ferguson said. “Last year we had 85 entries. This year we had 300.”

Ferguson introduced the 20 winning palette painters at the City Council meeting on Dec. 6.

Mayor Elizabeth Pearson-Schneider presented certificates of recognition to Hailey Meister and Niva Razin, both 5; Claire Black, 6; Tessa Mansour and Henry Schineller, 7; Gabriella Bechtel, Ford Brian, Harrison Gregory, Daniela Lucidi, and Mary Meyer, 8; Amanda Romano, 9; Marisa Merchant, 10; Demi Berryman, Kate Fleming and Morgan Myers, 12; and Ryan Lee, McKenna Nokes and Makalia Palmer, 13.
