UCI splits meet

IRVINE -- The UC Irvine women’s swimming and diving team defeated UC Davis at a dual meet on Sunday.

The Anteater women won, 126.5-116.5, while the UCI men lost to the Aggies, 133-109.

Junior Ashley DePaul and sophomore Chelsea Nagata were both double event winners for the UCI women, as DePaul won the 200-meter individual medley in 2:05.18 and the 200 fly in 2:03.36. Nagata won the 50 free (24.03) and 100 free (52.38).

On the men’s side, sophomores Randall Tom and Eddie Erazo each won a pair of events. Tom won the 200 IM in a UCI record time 1:50.57, and won the 200 breast in 2:04.03. Erazo won the 200 fly (1:52.17) and the 200 back (1:50.43).
