Keddington cleans up

Corona del Mar High sophomore Taylor Keddington finished second in the boys’ 14-15 age division of the Newport Beach Winter Classic, held Monday at Newport Beach Country Club.

Keddington shot a 5-over par 76. Other Newport Beach participants included Jamie Bloom (85), Jessica Milner (90), Mike Moorhead (97) and Mike Jugan (104).

The father and son duo of Mitch and Gene Ashwill finished first at the sixth annual Gerald Hall Open, held Saturday at Santa Ana Country Club.

Held only for Santa Ana Country Club members, the tournament is named after former head professional Gerald Hall, who is now deceased. Hall worked at Santa Ana from 1961 to 1985.

The Newport Beach father-son team of Scott and Bill Watson finished second.
