Softball player signs with Bowling Green

Brittany Hay, formerly a member of the Huntington Beach High softball team now in her first-year at Cypress College, has signed a national letter of intent with Bowling Green University in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Hay, who graduated in June from Huntington, was one of four players to sign with Bowling Green, Falcons softball coach Leigh Ross announced.

Hay, primarily a third baseman, was a four-year letter winner and two-time All-Sunset League first-team selection while at Huntington.

Ross said that Hay will help fill the void at third base due to the graduation of starter Gina Rango.

“Brittany has a phenomenal glove and a very strong arm that allow her to take away hits at third base,” Ross said. “She has great experience at the position.”
