Usually you hear a lot about the crosstown rivalry matches between Corona del Mar and Newport Harbor, or Costa Mesa and Estancia. Sometimes, though, its not the crosstown but the cross-crosstown rivalry match that is just as interesting.

Here was a spirited battle between Estancia and Corona del Mar, and the play was tough, as always. This was a slice of the action and showed that it doesn’t matter what school they’re from, the kids still make a valiant effort to play hard for whichever Newport-Mesa school they attend, regardless of reputation or size.
