Our intense training regimen

We’ve been weeks -- months, really -- training hard.

We’ve trained in the early morning, before the sun peaked over Newport Coast. We’ve trained as the sun set over the Pacific.

Mile after mile have torn up our shoes, leaving alone what they’ve done to our legs. We’ve climbed mountains, we’ve crossed the beaches, we’ve set our bodies into the finest shape possible, all for this morning.

The OC Marathon. Glory and pain in a mere 26 miles. We’re so honed there won’t be a wall for us to hit. It all will be a smooth, machine-like glide.

We’re trained diligently, expertly.

No we haven’t. We’re still in bed. But our hats are off to all those who are out running right now.

OK, now, back to bed. We’ll curl up with the Pilot, if you don’t mind.
