Locals sparkle at marathon

Locals’ results in OC marathonNewport Beach resident Alessia Bertolino was among five local division winners and was sixth overall among women at the Orange County Marathon on Sunday.

Bertolino, 35, competing in the women’s ages 35-39 division, finished the 26.2-mile course in 3 hours, 16 minutes, 16 seconds.

Ryan Lacy from Costa Mesa, 18, won the men’s 13-18 division with a time of 3:35.34.

Newport Beach’s Carrie Slaybach, 62, won the women’s 60-64 division in 4:23.21 and Costa Mesa’s Ann Lister, 58, won the women’s 55-59 division (4:27.59).

Paige Dunning, 9, from Newport Beach, won her division in 5:04.27. She was pushed in her stroller by her father, Grant Dunning.
