Fatal crash investigated

A Fountain Valley resident was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after he allegedly ran a red light and broadsided another vehicle, killing a Huntington Beach resident.

According to police reports, Mark Kaser, 41, was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence. Kaser’s bail has been set at $250,000.

Huntington Beach Traffic Investigator Bob Barr said a preliminary investigation determined that Kaser, who was driving a gray Ford F-150, was traveling north on Bushard Street just after 9 p.m. Sunday night when he allegedly ran a red light and hit a white Chevrolet Camaro that was traveling west on Yorktown Avenue. The Camaro’s driver, 55-year-old Robert Boster of Huntington Beach, was killed, said Supervising Deputy Coroner Leslie Meader.

Police continue to investigate the accident and ask anyone who may have witnessed it to contact the Huntington Beach traffic division at (714) 536-5663.
