Huntington Beach Adult Education offers drama classes for older adults designed by experts. Enjoy seeing or studying plays produced locally in the Summer Play Festival or take Creative Dramatics for acting techniques from Robert Rotenberry, theater chair for the Academy of the Performing Arts. The Huntington Beach Council on Aging and the Michael E. Rodgers Seniors’ Center sponsor ongoing classes at the Center. Subjects include creative writing, tai chi chuan, Spanish, tap dance and bridge. Some classes are offered through Coastline Community College and the Adult Day School and require pre-registration. The Fifty-Plus Fitness Assn. presents a free monthly walk/run/par course beginning at 8:45 a.m. the second Sunday of each month in Huntington Beach Central Park, between Talbert and Warner avenues. The event is held rain or shine, including holidays. (714) 546-4410.

The Point-To-Point Chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild, meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at Rodgers Senior Center at 17th Street and Orange Avenue. Hospitality is at 6:30 p.m. followed by the general meeting at 7 p.m. The American Needlepoint Guild promotes interest and participation in needle arts, particularly needlepoint, and is open to all who share in the pleasure of needlework.
