Sting nets alleged meth dealer

Police arrested a man after an undercover police officer allegedly bought an ounce of methamphetamine from him in a supermarket parking lot on the 30900 block of Coast Highway at about noon Wednesday.

Six undercover officers and one uniformed officer took part in the sting, police said.

Masked gunman stuns resident

On Friday morning around 5 a.m. a resident on the 700 block of Balboa Avenue reported a masked gunman came to his door.

After being awakened by the doorbell, the resident looked through the peephole and saw no one there. After opening the door, the resident saw a masked man around 6 feet tall with a husky build holding a handgun, police said.

The resident said he slammed the door and saw the suspect run to a 1990s grey or white sedan.
