ROBERT L. BROOKS

Longtime Newport Beach resident Robert L. Brooks died Feb. 17 at the age of 83.

Brooks was born in St. Louis on August 5, 1923. He worked as a real estate agent and had lived in Newport Beach since 1970.

Brooks is survived by nephew William Crawford.

RUTH ELIZABETH LUKE

Missouri native Ruth Elizabeth Luke, who lived in Newport Beach for 18 years, has died. She was 83.

Born in St. Joseph, Mo., Luke moved to Newport Beach in 1988 and worked as a property manager before retiring. She died Monday of natural causes.

Luke is survived by two sons, Bud and Gregory Skaggs; a daughter, Sherri Van Wagenen; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
