School’s out: It’s surf time

The National Scholastic Surfing Assn. state championships are slated for Friday through Sunday at Church’s Beach at San Onofre. There’s always the big battle between the San Clemente High Tritons and the Huntington Beach High Oilers for first place. In the middle-school contest, Dwyer and Sowers usually do quite well.

Tonight you can see “Enter Imbroglio,” another Big Red Productions extravaganza. Local surfers have some good footage in this flick. Look for Brett Simpson, Micah Byrne, Jesse Evans and Ted Navarro, who’s been killing it lately. Sounds like a good one. Showings are at 7 and 9 p.m. at the Pierside Pavillion.
