An outstanding year for the Laguna Beach High boys’ soccer team culminated last week when senior Derek LeBon was named the MVP of the Pacific Coast League.

He is one of seven Breakers to earn all-league status.

In girls’ soccer, Laguna placed two players on the all-league team.

LeBon led Laguna in scoring with 13 goals. He also had six assists.

He’ll play at UC Davis next year.

“I don’t know how I’m going to replace him,” Laguna coach Giovanni Vlahos said of LeBon. “I’ve been here two years and for two years he’s been my captain. He was my voice on the field for me so we worked closely on a daily basis to make sure the team was where it should have been day to day.”

Below is a listing of Laguna boys’ soccer players named to the all-league team, with a thought on each from Vlahos.
