Harbor Mesa Lion club member Sandi Scheafer chaired the project and was assisted by the members of her club, the Costa Mesa Newport Harbor Lions, Huntington Beach Host Lions and the Buena Park Noon Lions. Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service-club organization, with nearly 1.35 million members in about 44,600 clubs around the world. Since 1917, Lions clubs have aided the blind and visually impaired and made a strong commitment to community service and serving youth.

WORTH REPEATING

From the thought for the day, as provided by Greg Kelley of the Newport-Mesa-Irvine Interfaith Council:

“We are taught you must blame your father, your sisters, your brothers, the school, the teachers ? you can blame anyone but never blame yourself. It’s never your fault. But it’s always your fault, because if you wanted to change, you’re the one who has got to change. It’s as simple as that, isn’t it?”
