“Honk” for children at Playhouse

A bevy of local children have been cast as ducklings, goslings, froglets, chicks and baby fish for the upcoming Laguna Playhouse Youth Theatre production of “Honk,” the award-winning Broadway musical based on “The Ugly Duckling” fairy tale by Hans Christian Anderson.

The musical will run for two consecutive three-day weekends, Friday through Sunday, March 31 to April 2, and April 7 to April 9 at the Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Rd.

The show is directed by Donna Inglima, with choreography by Ellen Prince.

The musical tells the tale of an ugly duckling, whose odd appearance draws jeers from his family and neighbors. When he is separated from the farm and must find his way home, he discovers his destiny.
