New pastor for Lutheran church

Vicar Douglas D. Francik has joined St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The church had been without a pastor since July.

Francik is studying for the ministry of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod through a program called DELTO ? Distance Education Leading Toward Ordination.

Francik, 57, has been a chiropractor for 30 years, and still practices two days a week. An Escondido resident, he commutes to the church three days a week.

He expects to be ordained in about a year and a half. He is married and has two sons.

“I felt the Lord call me to full time church work and He has lead me to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church,” Francik said. “The Lord has blessed my life, and it is a joy for me to be able to serve the people in Laguna Beach.”
