Locals net basketball honors

Six local athletes have won Southland basketball honors.

Marina High senior Erin Barney and Ocean View junior D.J. Butler have been named to the Southern California Interscholastic Basketball Coaches’ Assn./Amateur Athletic Foundation 2005-06 girls’ basketball teams.

Barney was named to the Division IA first team and Butler was named to the Division IIIAA second team.

Edison senior T.J. Lipold was named to the boys’ Division IIAA first team. In Division IIIAA, Ocean View senior Brad Sweezy was named first team and teammates Diego Delgado, a senior, and Brandon Ishimoto, a sophomore, were named to the second team.
