MUSTANG DIVISION

Pres Companies 13, Wells Fargo 3: Brad Tapfer and Andrew Chase each had three hits for Pres Companies, which also got hits from Isaiah Suarez, Ryan McCully and Cole Sorensen.

Keaton Cablay scored three runs and Quinci Holgate scored twice. Bryan Shollin got his first action on the mound. Grayson Miller, Noah Robson Ryan Goodwin also contributed.

PONY DIVISION

Daily Pilot 4, Outback Steakhouse 3: Sandon Griffin, Jack Gerdau and Matt Ruiz combined on a one-hitter, striking out seven for Daily Pilot. Josh Harrison caught all seven innings.

Ruiz’s bases-loaded single and an error helped tie the score in the sixth inning. Blake Thomsen singled in Ruiz to win the game.

Daily Pilot 8, Panda Express 5: Panda Express led early on doubles by Parker Werline and Nick Manning and singles from Michael Borhard, Preston Risser and Kyle Jensen.

Daily Pilot’s Patrick Vorwerck pitched four innings, before Ruiz closed with two shutout innings.

Daily Pilot scored three times in the fifth inning on doubles by Jack Gerdau, Vorwerck and Josh Harrison and Austin Blodgett’s single. The winning runs came in the sixth as Riley Conroy, Matt Ruiz and Blake Thomsen doubled and Gerdau, Vorwerck and Harrison singled.

Gerdau, Harrison and Vorwerck finished with three hits apiece. Harrison made a diving catch in right field.

For Panda Express, Manning had three hits and Risser added two hits.

Daily Pilot 4, William Lyons 1: Matt Ruiz and Jack Gerdau hit back-to-back triples in the third inning, followed by Blake Thomsen’s single and Patrick Vorwerck’s double for Daily Pilot (5-3-1).

Gerdau, Ruiz and Sandon Griffin combined on a two-hitter. Gerdau finished with two hits and scored twice.

For William Lyons, Brian Hurst and Beau Attyah had base hits, and Mitch Gardner and Hurst pitched well.

PONY DIVISION

Costa Mesa Pony Dodgers 8, Newport Harbor Outback Steakhouse 5: The Dodgers were led by Derek Amendola’s strong pitching. Ryan Cherney, Kamran Qureshi, Brian Waldron, Ryan Barnett and Eric Ronquillo each had clutch hits.

AAA DIVISION

Padres 10, Rangers 3: Blake Flamson and Kevin Thomsen’s pitching led the Padres (6-1). Hale Furey, Matthew Riese and Kevin Hill each had two hits, and Thomsen, Randall Hill, Flamson, Brian Wagner and Wade Munger added one hit apiece for the Padres.

Paddy Conroy, Ian Hill, Kyle Trush and Blake Schneekluth led the Rangers’ offense.

MAJOR DIVISION

Yankees 8, Padres 6: The Yankees scored four times in the sixth inning. Chip Zucker and Will Nord pitched for the Yankees. The Padres received strong pitching from Connor Gaal through the first four innings.

The Yankees were led by Blake Grable (three hits, including two doubles, and two runs scored), Dylan Varner (two doubles and two runs), Brent Lawson (one hit and one run), Clay Chatham (a double and one run scored), Zucker (single and a run) and Willie Walsh (single and a run). The Padres were led by Jack Percival (two hits, including a triple, and a run scored), Cole Gennrich (two hits, including a triple, and a run scored), David Moore (two hits and two runs scored), Jedd Thayer (two hits), Connor Gaal (a double and a run scored) and Ari Mandell (single).

Yankees 3, Red Sox 1: Brennan Anderson and Will Nord held the Red Sox to five hits. Mason Case pitched 5 1/3 innings for the Red Sox, allowing five hits. The Yankees were led by Blake Grable (two hits), Taylor Epp (one hit), Jackson Pries (one hit) and Brent Lawson (two runs scored).

Mason Case (two hits), Zach Murtaugh (one hit) and Chandler Hughes (one hit) led the Red Sox.

Yankees 13, Reds 3: The Yankees’ Brennan Anderson and Will Nord allowed four hits over four innings.

The offense was led by Brent Lawson, who hit a leadoff homer in the first inning, Chip Zucker (two hits, including a double, and two runs scored), Anderson (two doubles and three runs scored), Clay Chatham (two hits), Carter Keddington (single and a run scored), Dylan Varner (single and two runs), Parker Brown (single and a run), Nord (single), Blake Grable (one run), and Taylor Epp (one run).

The Reds were led by Tyler Maloney (two hits and a run scored), Nathan Brown (single), Drew Olson (single and a run scored) and Bryan Tallichet (one run).

Angels 5, Padres 2: Evan Daniele threw four no-hit innings for the Angels (6-2). Tommy Bubonic pitched two shutout innings of relief. Matt English, Cort Hastings, Rob Rosenast and Daniele each had hits for the Angels. Chris Evangelatos drove in a run in the second inning.

For the Padres, Justin Tucker and Jedd Thayer combined to strike out eight, and David Moore had the team’s lone hit.

MAJOR DIVISION

Costa Mesa Angels 7, Fountain Valley White Sox 4: Anthony Dean and Tyler Sheffner combined to strike out 13 batters for the Angels (3-2), with Sheffner getting the win in relief. Sheffner hit a bases-loaded triple in the fifth inning, driving in Garrett Prather, Kurtis Williams and Aaron Axtell.

Cody Hanify’s sixth-inning bunt drove in J.T. McLuckey and Anthony Dean for the Angels.

Costa Mesa White Sox 2, Fountain Valley Dodgers 1: Tom Werdel stuck out 17 batters with no walks in six innings for the White Sox.

Werdel doubled in Nick Dawson in the first inning. The Dodgers scored in the third inning on Chad Eisele’s triple and John Chung’s single. In the sixth inning, the White Sox’s Gerrit Stukkie got on with his second single and stole two bases.

In the seventh, Trace Curet hit his second single, and moved to second on Dawson’s sacrifice bunt. Curet went to third on a wild pitch and scored on another wild pitch to end the game.

For the White Sox, Cory Bennion singled and Austin McCardle struck out three in an inning.

GOLD ALL-STARS

Costa Mesa Predators 2, South Irvine C 0: The Predators had strong defense from Marisa Flasco, Grecia Zarate, Val Hernandez, Sydney Caffey and Brenda Perez. Cindy Mejia and Leslie Alvarran were strong on offense.

Josefina Hernandez scored in the fourth quarter for Costa Mesa. Zuleyman Guzman added another goal off of Krystal Mendez’s pass.

CORONA DEL MAR

JUNIOR HIGH

The Corona del Mar Jr. High seventh-grade girls’ soccer team won its league title, defeating Dwyer Middle School, 3-0.

Kelsey Rustigian, Amanda Bastien and McKenzie Brown each scored for Corona del Mar. Scarlet Fallon, Hannah Rome and Erin Almarez anchored the defense, with Lindsey Luke posting the shutout in goal. Also playing well on offense were Jordon Dillion, Sarah Craig and Natalie Rempalski.

The eighth-grade team also defeated Dwyer for the league title.
