Fashion fever benefits middle school

It was fashion fever at the Clubhouse Restaurant in Costa Mesa.

More than 100 seventh- and eighth-grade girls and their mothers gathered under the capable stewardship of event chairs Robyn Moss and Rita Goldberg to raise funds for the Corona del Mar Middle School.

The annual mother-daughter event was a smashing success, thanks in part to the generous support of South Coast Plaza executive Debra Gunn Downing and her associates Gail Ossipoff and Lee Healy Cano, who assisted in organizing the event.

The afternoon started off with a luncheon of tea sandwiches, Caesar salad, pasta and a tempting dessert station. Then the fun began with hairdressing, makeup and a fashion show featuring 26 students, ages 12 to 14, modeling apparel from South Coast Plaza stores including Banana Republic, Jessica McClintock, Laundry, Max & Co., Miss Sixty, Replay, Tadashi and Traffic. If that was not enough, the day ended with raffle prizes awarded to 50 lucky young girls and their moms.
