Mustangs win in tourney

COSTA MESA ? Alex Dominguez hit a three-run double and picked up the victory as Costa Mesa High’s baseball team topped Pacifica, 6-2, in the consolation semifinals of the Beach Pit Classic on Tuesday.

Dominguez’s bases-loaded double came in the first inning as the Mustangs built a 4-0 lead. He pitched five innings to get the win, allowing five hits and striking out two.

John Rybarcyzk, Andrew Millian and Cody Waldron each had two hits for Costa Mesa (8-9), which will face Corona del Mar in the consolation championship today at noon at Costa Mesa High.
