Shooting Stars double up on big wins

The Shooting Stars picked up a pair of one-sided victories in girls’ softball 8-and-under division play, defeating the Tuff Cookies, 8-0, and Purple Power, 7-0.

Starting pitcher Stephanie Lakso got the win, and Ally Sterzer closed out the victory. The two were backed by the defensive play of Nubia Velasco, Kaitlin Barry, Sydney Reyes and catcher Camryn Hohneker.

Justine Jackson had a single and RBI, and Ciara Brennan and Danielle Kahn had key hits for the Shooting Stars.

Samantha Brennan had an RBI single, Stephanie Lakso had a double and RBI, Jennifer Swartz singled and stole two bases, and Camryn Hohneker and Danielle Kahn each had a single and RBI.
