PALM SPRINGS ? Corona del Mar’s Cierra Gaytan-Leach took care of some unfinished business Tuesday, winning the girls’ 14 doubles title at the Easter Bowl/USTA Spring National Championships.

Gaytan-Leach and partner Tayler Davis defeated Kate Fuller and Rachael Hart, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, at the Riviera Resort Country Club. It was the fourth national title for the Corona del Mar resident in her junior tennis career.

Gaytan-Leach had lost in last year’s doubles final, with then-partner Catherine Isip, to Jordan Dockendorf and Thien-Trang Nguyen, 6-3, 6-1.

“Last year, I was at the same tournament and lost in the finals,” she said. “This year, I had a new partner and we won, so it felt good.”

The pair from opposite ends of the state ? Davis lives in San Jose ? dropped two sets in five matches.

“I’ve known her for a lot of years,” Gaytan-Leach said of her partner. “We’ve wanted to play together, but we’ve always been with other players.”

Gaytan-Leach also reached the consolation quarterfinals in singles.

The next stop for Gaytan-Leach will be the Ojai Invitational tournament, starting April 27.
