Estancia’s golfers take down two foes with one round

COSTA MESA ? Estancia High’s Marcus Sostak dominated the Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club’s Mesa Linda course, shooting a two-under 33 to lead Estancia in a Golden West League boys’ golf matchup against Costa Mesa and Ocean View on Thursday.

The Eagles shot 189 to win the double-dual match, with Costa Mesa scoring 229 and Ocean View finishing with 241.

Ryan Knapp shot a 37 for the Eagles (12-4), Garrett McMasters had a 39, Greg Les and Austin Ser each shot 40s.

Costa Mesa junior Kyle Smith (42) earned medalist honors in the Mustangs’ win over Ocean View that upped its record to 8-6, 3-3 in league.

Steven Wright (43), Garrett Vosh (44), Willy McCoy (44) and Eddie Rodriguez (47) also scored for the Mustangs. It was the first time this season all five Mustangs broke 50.
