The Newport Beach Film Festival closes with a bang today.

“Radiant,” a feature film shot as a documentary, follows the story of four people who flee to the desert after they are accidentally exposed to an experimental virus. The show is at 1:30 p.m. at Edwards Island.

The documentary “Rebel Without Applause” chronicles the 15 minutes of fame of an English comedian who crashes the Prince William’s birthday party in 2003. The screening is at 4 p.m. at Edwards Island.

The Japanese film “Rikidozan” follows a sumo champion who takes up professional wrestling and will be shown at 5 p.m. in the Regency Lido Theatre.

The closing-night gala screening of “The Illusionist,” directed by Neil Burger and starring Edward Norton, Paul Giamatti, Jessica Biel and Rufus Sewell, screens at 7:30 p.m. in the Regency Lido Theatres. Cost is $45, which includes the after-party in the Via Lido Plaza. Ages 21 and over.
