SCPGA FOUR-BALL

Newport Beach’s Eric Lohman teamed up with Scott Heyn of Granada Hills to win the Southern California PGA Four-Ball Championship on Monday at the PGA of Southern California Golf Club.

The duo shot a 10-under-par 62 on the club’s Legends Course to win by two shots over five other teams. The pair had an impressive string of seven consecutive birdies starting at the fifth hole and had no bogeys in the round.

Lohman and Heyn split the first-place prize of $1,400.

JAGS TOUR

Sage Hill School freshman Stewart Hagestad tied for 19th at the Junior Amateur Golf Scholars Inland Empire Junior Challenge over the weekend at the PGA of Southern California Golf Club in Calimesa.

Hagestad shot a two-round total of 17-over-par 161 on the Champions Course to finish 15 shots behind Arcadia’s James Moseley. A field of 52 golfers dealt with cold and windy conditions on the course.

SCGA AMATEUR NET

Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club member Matt Fleming tied for 15th in the President’s Flight at the Southern California Golf Assn. Amateur Net Championship, which concluded Wednesday at the PGA of Southern California Golf Club’s Championship Course.

Fleming shot seven-over-par 151 to finish 11 shots behind eventual champion Mike Chiovare of Glendora. Chiovare was the only golfer in the President’s Flight to shoot over par in the tournament.

Peter Pellizon, also of Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club, tied for 22nd in the Secretary Flight with a four-over-par 148 at Oak Valley Golf Course.
