Jacqueline Kent dominated on the mound and the Wicked Blue Cockapoos of Huntington Beach Girls Softball came up big on offense in rolling to a 4-1 victory over Garden Grove in 14-and-Under Division action Saturday.

Kent was solid in all seven innings. She struck out 14 and was tagged for an unearned run.

The Wicked Cockapoos’ offense backed that pitching effort as Meghan White went 2 for 3 with a double and RBI and Asheigh McNiff also went 2 for 3. Charlene Courtney, Kylee Lappin and Erin Burke all singled in the pivotal 5th inning, where the Cockapoos scored all four of their runs to take the lead for good.

In a battle between two Surf City teams, the Wicked Blue Cockapoos outlasted South Huntington Beach, 10-6.
