Bond plan includes science classrooms
A stadium for the Westside, elementary science classrooms and a replacement for Newport Beach’s most famous school building may be among the first projects started this year under the $282-million Measure F school bond.
At Monday’s meeting of the Measure F equity committee, which is a group of 21 parents who review the Newport-Mesa Unified School District’s plans for site renovation, Supt. Robert Barbot presented a facility plan for the first two phases of the bond. The first phase, with a price tag of $60 million, is expected to begin later this year if funds are available.
