PHOTO OF THE WEEK What goes up

Staff photographer Kent Treptow’s photograph of a house in mid air gives a unique perspective of moving day. Project manager David Scodeller is shown as he helps guide a manufactured home as it was lifted by crane into its place on 33rd Street in Newport Beach on Tuesday. It’s not every day we see houses in the air, and the low angle to get Scodeller in the frame put into perspective how high and how big the house was.

A lot of times when a house-moving project is occurring, it is hard to get an interesting shot. The easiest thing to shoot is the crane lifting it off or putting it on the truck from a straight-on view and get on to the next assignment. Kent took a different approach and was able to spend some time and get a nice shot.
