TEDFORD LUNCHEON AT NEWPORT HARBOR YACHT CLUB SET

The Newport Harbor Yacht Club will hold a luncheon to honor Cal football coach Jeff Tedford on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.

Tedford will discuss the fortunes of the Golden Bears football program, including recruiting and the prospects for next season.

NEWPORT HARBOR SEEKING COACHES IN TWO SPORTS

Newport Harbor High is looking for a softball coach to replace Mike Davis, who resigned after the 2006 season due to family and work commitments.

The Sailors were 6-21-1 last season under Davis, who compiled a 22-48-4 record in three seasons at the helm.
