Marines to hold car wash today

The Arches restaurant will host a car wash to benefit the city-sponsored 1st Battalion, 1st Marines from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today in the restaurant parking lot, 3334 West Coast Highway, Newport Beach.

Marines from the Camp Pendleton battalion and their wives will wash cars to raise funds for their annual ball, held each year in Newport Beach. There will also be some homemade baked goods available.

Newport Beach sponsors the 1st Battalion, 1st Marines. The sponsorship committee raises money throughout the year to help pay for expenses for Marines and their families.
