ANTHONY J. SWIES

A memorial service is scheduled today in Newport Beach for longtime resident Anthony J. Swies.

Born in Shenandoah, Pa., in 1926, Swies worked as a senior vice president in the retail industry and lived in Newport Beach for 32 years. He died Friday of natural causes. He was 80.

Swies is survived by his wife, Dorothy Swies; a son, Anthony J. Swies, Jr.; three daughters, Catherine Ellis, Mary Lou Roberts and Carolyn Pera; a sister, Lottie Feeley; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mass will be held at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 2046 Mar Vista Drive, Newport Beach.
