Magill, Mesko win volleyball tourney

The team of Chris Magill and Jon Mesko captured first place at the Men’s Open AAA volleyball tournament held last weekend in Laguna Beach.

Magill and Mesko won the 20-team event, which was played Saturday and Sunday in perfect weather at Main Beach. The runner-up team was Ken Lentin and Vince Robbins.

The teams of Bivin Sadler and Michael Doucette, and Brad Johnson and Tom Wright, finished in a tie for third place. Four teams ? Rick Colson and Ryan Van Rensselaer, Adam Breault and Dru Gerhard, Eric Roberts and Shawn Essert, and Kurt Peters and Michael Rupp ? shared fifth place.
