Boats are going, going ...

Orange Coast College will hold its annual spring boat auction and marine gear sale today.

Bidder registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and the marine gear sale starts at 8 a.m. A live auction starts at 9 a.m.

Items in the auction will include sailboats, power boats, dinghies, kayaks, ski boats, sails and more.

All the boats and accessories were donated to the Orange Coast College Foundation, so no background information will be given about the items at the auction.

There is no restriction on the price an item can be sold for.

Some vessels have gone for as little as $10 at previous auctions.

Proceeds from the sale will go towards Orange Coast College’s School of Sailing and Seamanship.

The sale will take place at Orange Coast College’s Marine Services Yard, at 1370 Adams Ave., across the street from Orange Coast College.
