YOUTH SWIM RESULTS

The Newport Hills Killer Whales defeated the Pacific Sands Penguins, 857-349, in a South Coast Swim Conference home dual meet on June 17.

Both the Killer Whales’ boys’ and girls’ 6-and-under divisions had a very strong outing. The girls finished first, second and third in the 25-yard freestyle, the 25 breaststroke and the 25 butterfly. The boys swept the top three places, the 25-yard free, the 25 fly and the 25 back.

Both the girls and the boys also won all three relays.

The Newport Hills boys’ 9-10 team also had a very good day, placing in the top three spots in the 50 free, the 50 breaststroke and the 100 individual medley.

Newport Hills also swept the three relays.

Killer Whales Erika Anderson, Lauren Openshaw, Natalie Wilde, Lauren Dean, Hollace Barden, Kimberly Condino, Claire Ham and Shannon McCroskey won their events with season-best times.

Annabel Farber swam season bests in winning two events.

Numerous Newport Hills boys’ swimmers also established season bests while winning their events. They included: Morgan Cortens, Ryan Naddy, Kyle Cousens, Alex Wilde, Anthony Daboub, Stephen Kipp and Scott Sanford.

Benjamin Zepfel and Matt Fisher broke records and won two events apiece.

Harbor View triumphs

The Harbor View Dolphins swim team got past Lake Forest II, 832.5-505.5, in a home dual meet on June 17.

Ellen Naruse set two pool records in the 9-10 girls’ division (14.04 in the 25 fly and 1:13.47 in the 100 IM).

The Harbor View boys’ 7-8 free relay also set a record (1:05.51).

Justin Hanson set a record in the boys’ 7-8 division, swimming the 25 free in 14.15.
