Huntington Harbour residents George Demos and his three grandchildren, Madison Demos, 5, Shawn Beideman, 10, and Alexis Demos, 2, competed in Cal Tech University’s Senior Olympics June 3.

George Demos and the three kids placed second and third in a grandchildren-grandparent 100-meter relay.

In a discus, shotput and javelin-throwing competition, George Demos brought home a medal.

Ellen Burton of Huntington Beach, Orange County Transportation Authority’s executive director of external affairs, was honored with 11 awards for her work in communications, winning more awards than any other public or private company for the second year in a row.

Burton has worked for OCTA for 20 years.

Edison High School alumna Kristen Klueger, 22, graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University in June.
