Soccer camp to kick off in Surf City

Major League Soccer will host two upcoming camps at Sowers Middle School in Huntington Beach.

The camps will run July 24-28. The camp for players in divisions Under-6 through Under-16 will run from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost is $105 per camper.

The camp for players in division U-8 and U-16 will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost is $145 per camper.

The cost covers a soccer ball, T-shirt and voucher to an upcoming MLS game.

Longboard Classic rides Saturday

The 12th annual Surfer Joe’s Summer Longboard Classic will run Saturday in Sunset Beach.

The contest begins at 6:30 a.m. and runs through noon at 9th Street. Division competitions will be held in pro, masters, amateur and women’s.

Hoops camp at Edison High July 24

The Edison Basketball Camp will be held July 24-28, at the school’s gymnasium.

The camp is open to boys and girls, grades 3 through 8, and runs daily from 9 a.m. to noon.
