Groms short-circuit Breakers
The Grommets never trailed in their Norris Division match against the Breakers and went on to collect a season-opening 6-1 victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.
Caden Thompson led the scoring charge with three goals. Danielle Dapello, Colin Reyes and Jake Renninson also scored.
Reyes, Renninson and Nicole Langley each had an assist, and Emmett Jaeger recorded 16 saves.
The Breakers received their lone goal off the stick of Kyle Hoglund, who was set up by Alexander Taros.
Jake Grothjan’s busy match in the net included 39 saves.

Diablos 6, Kings 5
The Diablos outscored the Kings by three goals in the final period to pull out the victory.
Alex Buyan, who led the Diablos in scoring with three goals, netted the game-winning goal with 37 seconds left to play off a feed from Corey Childers.
Tyler Crimmins scored twice, Trenton Shehan scored once and Alex Buyan and Rachel Buyen also had assists.
Blake Walker finished with 22 saves.
Mark Clifford of the Kings tied for game-high scoring honors with three goals and also had an assist. Jake Shaylor and Kian Nafison also scored, and Kamran Nafison had an assist.
Ethan Higbee had 26 saves.
Raptors 5, Bears 5
Alec Dahl of the Raptors and Austin Koss of the Bears scored unassisted goals in an overtime shootout as the teams battled to a tie.
Dahl finished with two goals, Matthew Chism had a goal and assist, and Andrew Schenker and Hector Tepayotl also scored for the Raptors. Nick Hoskins had 24 saves.
Koss scored twice, Justin Campbell scored twice and had an assist, and Cooper Haar scored a goal for the Bears.
