Speed Kills training camp begins Monday

Speed Kills, a two-week camp designated to provide youth with speed and agility training, gets underway Monday at the Laguna Beach High football stadium field.

The camp runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily through July 28. The cost is $200 per athlete, or an athlete can pay $25 per session for the duration of the camp.

The camp is open to youth ages 5 and up and to an athlete competing in any sport. More than 2,000 athletes have trained with Speed Kills since 1998.

Junior tennis begins July 24

Junior Tennis programs for Pee Wee, Junior, Teenage and Competitor athletes begins July 24 and runs every two weeks through August.

Participants in the Pee Wee and Junior programs will work on technical skills, fitness and mental toughness using the latest modern teaching methods.

Cardio Tennis offers summer workout

Summer Cardio Tennis is being offered in Laguna Beach. The cost for the six workouts is $109.

The schedule is as follows:

Beginning players: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. each Monday and Wednesday through Aug. 2.

Intermediate Players: 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. each Monday and Wednesday through Aug. 2.

All-England soccer academy in August

The All-England Soccer Academy 2006 Summer Soccer Camps return to Laguna Beach this summer and will be held at Moulton Meadows.

The academy will be held for four weeks beginning Aug. 7. A weekly rate of $150 is required of each camper.
