Setting sail

Prepare to be blown away. Seniors can enjoy sailing trips aboard Oasis II through Oasis Senior Center’s sailing club. The club meets from 1 to 3 p.m. the last Wednesday of every month in Room 3 of the center. New sailors are always welcome to join the club’s regular sailing excursions, and no experience is necessary. For more information, call (949) 640-6423.

Taking control together

Dealing with chronic illness can be overwhelming, and this support group is designed to help people learn to cope. Join this once-monthly session to learn to get past the limitations that come with such illnesses as diabetes, lung disease and arthritis. The Take Control Group meets from 1 to 3 p.m. the fourth Friday of every month at Costa Mesa Senior Center. Participants must complete the seven-week chronic disease management course prior to attendance.

Blood pressure clinic

The Costa Mesa Senior Center wants to help people stay healthy and be aware of their bodies. Nurses will be available from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays to take blood pressure readings. No appointment is necessary.
