The purpose of the meeting is for the commission to hear from the public on the draft of an Environmental Impact Report on the North Costa Mesa High-Rise Residential Projects.

The five proposed project sites are: Segerstrom Town Center, 3400/3420 Bristol St.; Orange County Museum of Art, 605 Town Center Drive; The Californian at Town Center, 580 Anton Blvd.; Symphony Towers, 585 Anton Blvd., and Pacific Arts Plaza, 675 Anton Blvd.

The Segerstrom Town Center project includes two high-rise buildings with 275 units; the Orange County Museum of Art project includes 80 high-rise units to be built over a portion of the museum; the California at Town Center project will involve the demolition of the Lakes Pavilions retail center. Replacing it will be two 25-story towers with 250 units, including a mechanical penthouse on the top level. The Symphony Towers project features two 24-story towers, two six-story mid-rise buildings and two five-story parking structures. The buildings will house 484 condominiums. The Pacific Arts Plaza includes a high-rise residential building with 180 units. An existing five-story office building would be torn down to build the tower.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The commission will not take any action on these proposed projects. The commission will only hear from the public and their opinion on the draft EIR on the proposed projects.
